M26 'Malling 26' Apple Rootstock 

M26 is dwarfing, reaching 45% of seedling tree size

 

A dwarfing apple rootstock, which will produce a small tree with heavy crops and early yield (will bear fruit in around 3 years). Staking, or a trellis, for support is highly recommended, especially in wind prone sites.

 

Suitable for high density plantings. Will produce burrknots.

 

Mature tree height: 2.5 – 3.5 meters

 

Soil: M26 performs best on soils with high fertility, and will grow well in all soils EXCEPT for wet/poorly draining soils.

 

Precocity: Very early

 

Support required: Yes

 

Available in two sizes:

Grafting Grade - ready to graft this winter

Liner Grade - to plant out and grow on for budding in summer, or grafting the following winter
