A columnar form of the popular pin oak, with a very upright and narrow growth habit making this tree perfect for narrow areas of the garden. Requiring little pruning to maintain a compact, narrow shape.
Leaves are a vibrant green in the summer and are deeply lobed. Autumn colours are bronze-red.
Tree size: 12 - 14 m high and 3 – 4 m wide, in 20 years
Position and Care:
A hardy and low maintenance tree, once established. Fastigiate Oaks will adapt to a wide range of soil types and environmental conditions.
The Fastigiate Oak will perform best when planted in full sun, to part shade, preferring well-drained, moist, fertile soils.
Regular watering is recommended while the tree is young and establishing its roots. When established they will benefit from deep watering during dry periods.
