Pineapple Quince are a medium sized fruit with a hint of pineapple flavour.
The fruit are more round than other quince. The skin is smooth, thin and easily bruised.
When ripe, the fruit turn golden-yellow and are very aromatic, with a hint of pineapple scent.
The flesh is white, hard and dry. When cooked the tart flesh will soften and turn pale pink and is ideal for preserves, poaching, baking, quince paste, jellies and jams.
The tree has an ornamental quality, with slightly twisting branches and attractive fragrant, white blossom. This deciduous tree has an upright spreading habit, is vigorous and a heavy cropper.
