Fruit ripening time: Late January – February
A very crisp apple, with a good balance between sweet and sharp taste. An excellent flavour for an early season apple.
A medium size fruit with a green-yellow skin covered with beautiful red stripe.
Akané is the result of a cross between a Worcester Parmain and Jonathan. The tree is vigorous and has moderately good disease resistance.
Uses: Best enjoyed fresh, but also useful in baking and will keep its shape when cooked.
Tree Size:
Dwarf: Can be kept to 1.5 meters and grown in containers
Semi-dwarf: 3 - 5 meters tall, depending on shape
