MM111 Apple Rootstock

MM111 is semi-dwarfing reaching 75% of seedling tree size

 

This hardy rootstock will grow on most soil types and handle a wide range of conditions. The extra vigour and good anchorage is advantageous in dry and light soils, and MM111 will tolerate mild drought conditions once established.

 

Slower to bear fruit than the more dwarfing rootstock, trees on MM111 roots will start to bear fruit in 4 to 5 years.

 

Better suited to heavy soils than MM106

 

Mature tree height: 3.5 – 5 meters

 

Soil: Suitable for both heavy clay and light soils.

 

Precocity: Late

 

Support required: No

 

Disease information: Rootstock is resistant to woolly aphid and moderately resistant to collar rot. Susceptible to powdery mildew

 

Available in two sizes:

Grafting Grade - ready to graft this winter

Liner Grade - to plant out and grow on for budding in summer, or grafting the following winter
