M9 Apple Rootstock

M9 is very dwarfing reaching 35% of seedling tree size

A dwarfing apple rootstock, which will produce a small tree with heavy crops and early yield (will bear fruit in 2 - 3 years). It will require support through staking or a trellis, and minimal pruning. The fruit is larger, and will ripen a little earlier.

M9 is suitable for high density planting and is the most commonly planted dwarfing rootstock in the world.

To get the most out of your dwarf tree, reduce the weed competition around the base, mulch, and regularly apply fertiliser and water well during dry periods.

Mature tree height: 1.8 – 3.5 meters

Soil: M9 will perform well on all soil types, except for light/sandy soils in low rainfall areas without irrigation

Precocity: Very early

Support required: Yes

Available in two sizes:
